Sharla Mize, LPCC (7961)
I became a therapist because I wanted to be that person who helped others see their higher self and live from their inner wisdom, overcoming their fears, trauma, and history. I want to help others create lasting change in their lives. It is my privilege to hold space for you to unpack your emotional baggage and trauma and help you develop the capacity for resilience and healing. My number one passion in my profession is helping people connect with their own inner wisdom and teaching them how to freely live their life worth living.
My specialty is Dialectical Behavior Therapy, which enables me to develop a structured, safe space for healing. Together we will develop a plan for you to meet your goals and develop a life you value. I balance the ability to accept you where you are and challenging you to develop new skills, habits, and behaviors that help you to build a foundation for trauma work and a sense of wholeness and well-being.
I work with adults and adolescents who struggle with out of control emotions. My skills best serve people with depression, anxiety, anger issues, Borderline Personality Disorder, and substance use.
I am a Nationally Certified Licensed Professional Counselor, with a Mental Health Services designation from the state of Tennessee and a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in California. I have completed comprehensive training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy and have been providing DBT services to people with substance use and mental health disorders for over 12 years, in both residential and private practice settings.
