Chronic pain is a constant companion for you and it limits every aspect of your life. It can stop you from going to work. You constantly worry if you have enough medication and if you forgot it when you leave home. You just don't know, on any particular day, if you will be able to get up and do the things you had panned for the day. Depression, fatigue and feeling like a burden weigh you down.

Chronic pain is silent and invisible and many people just don't understand how debilitating it can be.

Opiates are the treatment of choice for chronic pain. The problem is that they stop working as you build a tolerance for them, and they are highly addictive. Plus sometimes there are  severe side effects. Not to mention they are expensive!

 

The Chronic Pain Support Group Can Help You Reclaim Your Life

Meets Wednesdays from 10am - 11 am

Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) is an Evidence-Based Treatment has been shown to be effective in the management of chronic pain. This 10 week group will use CBT approaches to help you:

  • Learn healthy coping skills to manage the pain
  • Decrease dependence on medications (you don't have to stop taking them)
  • Identify your pain triggers and learn to manage them
  • Get support from people who understand

☐   Do you experience chronic pain caused by one or more physical, neurological, or psychological conditions?

☐   Do you have difficulty managing your pain?

☐   Do you limit your activities because of your pain?

☐   Do you take prescribed medications and/or over-the-counter medications for pain on a regular basis?
